Tango-DJ Bernhard Gehberger

"Bernhard Gehberger was exceptional at Carablanca last night. Super strong music, it engaged everyone and did a great job of delivering beautiful tandas, pacing the evening, and demanding and keeping the dancers' attention. I think it was brilliantly calculated for the crowd, which is always very mixed and can be difficult. It helped a lot that it wasn't too crowded (despite the large size of the hall, this milonga has problems when crowded). But there were some seriously good dancers there, and they were the loudest in the standing ovation he got at the end." - MSHEDGEHOG

Tango DJ-ing

Bernhard Gehberger is dancing, DJ-ing, organizing and teaching Tango for many years worldwide, as well as running this internationally renowned website and a monthly newsletter for tango music.

He DJs at regular milongas, festivals and tango marathons throughout Europe. His passion are tangos from the late 1920's to the early 1950's. Carefully selected tangos arranged in tandas – alternatingly playful, melodic, romantic, dramatic, rhythmical and cheerful in character - offer a wide range of music interpretation for non-stop dancing. Spiced up by some rare and hard-to-find musical gems that may be unknown, astonishing, weird or funny, but always great to dance to.

Depending on the event and the level and style of dancers, the structure and selection of music might be strictly traditional, well known and easy to dance to or peppered with specials and sophisticated tangos to challenge experienced dancers. Especially prepared cortinas enhance the structure of a traditional Argentine milonga and the overall dancing experience of your event. Attention will be paid to the micro-structure within the tandas, making sure that each tanda begins and ends with a "must-dance-feeling". Equal care is taken to create an appropriate macro-structure to make sure there is a great flow and structure to the evening, starting gently or driving, building up to a dramatic climax and ending in a romantic, melodic or cheerful finale.

Bernhard will create a striking set of music for any event, be it your regular milonga, tango marathon or festival. To book please check the DJ-schedule for available dates and get in contact.
